Six Degrees Magazine Miami
Feb 2009 By Ashley Calloway Sit, stay...shop? That doesn't sound like the usual instructions, but Doggy Studio & Boutique will definitely command you attention with its creative portraits and high-end products for your pooch. Store owner and seasoned dog photographer Shelly Guberek ditches the typical corny props for a more classic approach that truly captures the personality of you four-legged friend. Guberek's Photos have sold at Art Basel events, and she's also snapped pictures for US Weekly and Dog Fancy magazines. The Photographer is always in, and you can have your portraits framed or transformed into pop art. While the studio sessions occurs in the back, the front of the store features high- quality dog food and swanky products for Chihuahuas and Great Danes alike-think collars with bone-shape studs and custom-make wooden beds. Some of the goodies can't be found at the average pet store, and even the most standard items are a notch above the finds at the usual shops. "You get [here] what you can get there," says Guberek, "just the nicer cooler version." --------------------------------- Return to The Press |
